Handles, Handrails and Latches: Specify the Correct Hardware Interface
Separate the Hardware Functions
This category brings together hardware with different functions, so begin by identifying the exact handle, handrail fitting or latch required. A common finish does not make the products interchangeable. CastingFoundries can review an enquiry more clearly when each component has its own reference, drawing and quantity.
Record the Assembly Dimensions
For handles and handrail fittings, show the fixing centres and required clearance from the mounting surface. For a latch, include its mating component and the relevant alignment dimensions. Describe threads, studs or other connections explicitly. An assembly view helps explain how the hardware relates to the adjacent panel, tube or frame.
Define Materials and Appearance
Specify the required material and finish for each part. Identify visible surfaces and any dimensions that need machining or inspection. If the order includes fasteners or a mating latch component, list these items separately. Agree the sample acceptance requirements for the actual hardware function as well as its appearance.
Submit a Complete Parts List
Send CastingFoundries the drawings and an itemised quantity list. State the supplied assembly condition and requested documentation. Keep changes to connection dimensions, orientation or finish attached to the correct part reference so that the quotation and sample review do not combine requirements from different products.
