Shackle Components: Define the Body, Pin and Required Documentation
Select the Exact Shackle Arrangement
A shackle enquiry should identify the body shape and pin arrangement of the required product. Similar dimensions or finishes do not establish equivalent performance. Tell CastingFoundries the intended application and supply the component drawing or approved product specification, including any required rating and documentation.
Describe the Mating Dimensions
Show the internal opening, body dimensions, pin diameter and connection details. Identify the space available around the adjoining component and any requirement for a particular pin retention arrangement. If the enquiry covers a custom body or pin, make that scope explicit and include the relationship between the two parts.
Agree Materials and Acceptance Criteria
Specify the material and finished condition for each component. Record the required marking, traceability and inspection documents in the order specification. Requirements for load-bearing or other controlled applications must be supported by the applicable design and acceptance process; they should not be inferred from a general catalogue description.
Use One Approved Reference
Send CastingFoundries the selected configuration, drawing revision and quantities. State whether the order covers components or a completed assembly and list the required documentation. Review the sample against the agreed specification and keep any dimensional, material or marking changes attached to that reference before production.
